My friend and I walked the Camino from 15th May to 26th May 2010. It was the most wonderfully rewarding experience and one I would recommend to every walker or traveller.
Having used this forum to gain information, I wanted to discard a large part of my backpack for the walk and take only 10% of my body weight (as many had suggested). We used a freight company called SEUR and sent 2 backpacks of about 20kg combined weight from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela (Ivan's Travel Centre) for about 36 euros. They picked them up from our hotel and we recovered them when we got to Santiago. I can hightly recommend them and this method if you only want to travel light.

SEUR is huge in Spain, much bigger than UPS or FedEx.... good to hear that you had a good experience with them, since they are THE transport company here..

Saludos,

June and I also used the Camino Travel Center's help on our recent walk from Porto. We planned other travel before and after our walk, so we sent a parcel of boots, backpacks, etc., on ahead. Our parcel got "hung up" in Spanish customs and Ivar's right hand, Wiktoria, had to work hard to get it there for us. The CTC also booked bus tickets to Porto for us, and booked accommodations for us both before and after our walk. A few days into our walk, we realized (as have many others) that we had just too much stuff! So we posted some extra weight ahead to the CTC. And, when our schedule couldn't be met, we emailed Wiktoria and she made some difficult changes. So, we were very happy with their support and we feel we have some really good friends in Santiago at the CTC.
