I tried to search the forum before posting, to make sure would not be repeating something that has already been said ... This afternoon I came across Gérard Rousse's guide for the Primitivo, and it's only a year old. I clearly am a bit of an addict to all things Camino, since I have never liked his guide for el Camino del Norte, but I still had to buy this one. Will compare it with the info given by Editorial Buen Camino which was also published in 2014.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

I wonder if this is the same Gerard who wrote a French language guide for the Camino Levante. I had the Spanish guide written by the Valencia Association, and all I can tell you about the Gerard guide is that my two French pals who had it often took his name in vain and asked me for help. :) Buen camino, Laurie

It is, he wrote the Levante guide in 2011. And these guides always disapoint me, I figure there are arrows to follow, so I don't need a guide that tells me to turn right after the red house and left after the 2nd oak tree, but that tells me about the villages and towns I am walking through, their historical importance, legends, etc. Will report back on this book when I get back from my 365km stroll in June ;0)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thanks to those of you who have wished me Buen Camino pm! My plan was Salvador/Prim, but 1) cold feet because of a knee (old injury) and 2) would have to rush with no possibilty of short/rest...
We are arriving in Madrid on May 5th. I went online today to purchase train tickets to Oviedo and it doesn't show any train service. Does that mean the trains are sold out? Or maybe some other...
Hi, has anyone walked the Primitivo in mid-October? What was it like? Weather, tracks and accommodation? I plan to walk from Oviedo to Lugo only, then bus to Santiago after. Thanks for your input.
