Time of past OR future Camino
i'll be travelling the camino on the first half of september 2017
hello guys,
I know that all the information I need is available on the internet, but I have been recieving inconsistent information from different websites. I really need your help:

I am about to start the camino from SJPdP. I will be arriving the village by a bus from pamplona on sunday the 3.9 in about 14:00. I read that the pilgrim office in SJPdP is closed on sundays on september, and I'm not sure what can I do. I tried to check if I can get a pilgrim passport in pamplona (in the municipal albergue) and take a bus to SJPdP later but that will delay my plans. correct me if I'm wrong: Is there any way to acquire a pilgrim passport and maps in SJPdP on saturday the 3.9 in the afternoon? thank you.

September is now amongst the busiest times for beginning the Camino Frances and I would be astonished to hear that the pilgrim office in St Jean closed on Sundays during that month. I am sure you have been given false information. The pilgrim office opens very early in the morning (about 0730) and does not usually close until well after the arrival time of the last train of the day from Bayonne so that new arrivals can be helped to find accommodation. In the most unlikely event that the St Jean pilgrim office is closed it is possible to acquire a credencial at Roncesvalles. Many Spanish pilgrims begin their journeys there rather than in France.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I saw this website. thing is that it's only one of like 5 different opening hours that I have seen it's hard to tell which website is the official one.

and this is quite confusing: "Open each day from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm ; Friday and Sunday from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm" - does this mean that the office is open on sundays from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm IN ADDITION to the regular daily opening hours?

Yes the office is open on Fridays and Sundays from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm IN ADDITION to the regular daily opening hours.

I just understood my mistake. There are 2 offices in SJPdP: a tourism office and a pilgrim office, each has different opening hours. the tourism office is indeed closed on sundays during september but the pilgrim passport i need can be found in the pilgrim office which is open all year long. I'm posting this for other confused pilgrims

thanks a lot!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
This being said, the Pilgrim Office will not be handing out maps. You must get those on your own. Buy a guidebook while still at home - lots of different options.

Yes, the Pilgrims Office in SJPdP hands out a map for the stage to Roncesvalles. This map shows "escape option" for sudden bad weather etc. and no problem to buy a guidebook in SJPdP either - plenty of places sell them. Buen Camino, SY
