Getting Back to Biarritz

If you are on the Camino Frances, you probably will need to take a bus to Pamplona, transfer to the bus to SJPdP, then take the train to Bayonne.

Some cities along the route will have buses to Irun. Virtually all will have buses to Pamplona.

It totally depends on the town you started and end in. Punta la Reina, Estella and Logrono have good bus service to San Sebastian and Bilbao and from these places there are numerous alternative to Biarritz.

I'm not clear on where you plan to walk.

There are myriad transportation options that connect to Biarritz Airport.

If you are walking in Spain the key is crossing the border. The border point is Irun/Hendaye. The closest city to the border is San Sebastian.

Transdev ATCRB operates buses from Gare Hendaye to Biarritz Airport.

SNCF operates trains from Irun Renfe Station (TGV and Intercites) and Gare Hendaye (TER) to Gare Biarritz. Chronoplus bus C connects station to airport.

Renfe operates trains from Pamplona to Irun.

There are buses from Pamplona to San Sebastian. There is limited bus service from Pamplona to Biarritz Airport.

Estellesa is based in Estella. It operates a bus route between Logrono and Pamplona with stops in most villages. Estellesa operates a bus route from Estella to Irun Renfe Station and the bridge at the border close to Gare Hendaye. You have to walk across the bridge (Puente Santiago) that straddles the border.

Euskotren connects San Sebastian with Gare Hendaye.

As you can see there is lots available.

hi timmy,dad and i walked from sjpdp to estella last year,we found the tourist office really helpfulwe explained where we needed to get to and when and the gave us excellent information,i was getting worried about getting back to biarritz to catch our flights ,sorry i cant remember exact route but we caught two buses to san sebastion which actually was a really nice place to spend a night,i would recommend it,the buses were easy to find and ran on time .dont worry too much i did get a bit stressed out,but it worked out perfectly .
