I'd fly to Madrid, take a Cercanias train into the city centre, then train to Orense. Faster trains take about 4 1/2 hours from Madrid to Orense. Bookable online at renfe.com

Most flights from the east coast come in early in the am and the flights to Santiago seem late at night after the trains to Orense have finished. Can you give me more detail as to how you did it? Thanks so much.
