Time of past OR future Camino
Plan to walk the northern route - San Sebastian to Bilbao (Sept2018)
My daughter and I will be hiking a small portion of the Camino del Norte late August / early September. Should we have any concerns re: Labour Day weekend. Much appreciated

Neither American labor day or Canadian labour day, celebrated on the first Monday in September is a holiday in europe. In fact today March 1 is the european labour day holiday. However the months of August and September are very popular holiday times in europe; seaside resorts along the Camino Norte will be busy.

Happy planning and Buen camino to both of you!

Today (May 1st) is actually Labor Day which meant many Spaniards were on a 4 day long weekend to the coast (Sat - Tues). So accommodation has been tight along the Norte for us pilgrims the past few night as non-pilgrims filled up many of the spots not specifically dedicated to Pilgrims. The albergue in Larrabetzu was full last night with some folks on the floor and others turned away. Something to be aware of for those planning future Caminos on the Norte as this is a very popular vacation area.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
