OK I freely admit it - I am an addict. I got back on the 12th and have already booked a flight for the 27th of August.

Sorry I see you will be in SJPdp in September. I am walking from Leon to SDC only to finish the Frances I started in May. (I left at Leon to walk the San Salvador then).

Bunyan was a man who would not have dreamed of going on pilgrimage himself-a Puritan who was often quite upset concerning what he perceived as Papist fallacies do remember that Pilgrim's Progress was written during his time incarcerated in Bedford jail. Pilgrimage makes for funny bedfellows for sure!

You must be retired to have the time but go for it. While you walk you live and while you live you grow.

But I seem to recall you have a fair lady in Spain! Meeting friends would be a drawcard also?

I retired some years ago but this year (in Burgos) I celebrated being officially a "Senior Citizen" as at the moment the official retirement age for men is still only 65 in the UK.

I sometimes think I ought to block the Ryanair and Easyjet sites. They are my equivalent of Imelda Marcos's shoes!

Thanks Pat. I did. I walked into Burgos that day arriving about 1. Spent some time with people I had met along the way. Explored the Tapas bars in the evening!

Al:- if you get Camino withdrawal symptoms before the end of August try St James Lancaut - near Offas Dyke just north of Chepstow
