I have raised more questions than provided answers on this site which I find fascinating: reading what people will do / have done with respect to walking to Santiago.
For my part I am English, live in central southern France most of the time and my intention is to walk from Le Puy-en-Velay to Santiago starting on 25 August. I say intention advisedly as I am under no illusions: almost continuous walking for 70-80 days will not be easy. Nevertheless, I look forward to the pilgrimage, meeting pilgrims and other walkers and enjoying both France and Spain. Previous experience of long distance walking was a long time ago so is almost nil in recent times, but I have done some trekking: up Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa 2 years ago, and to the source of the River Ganges in the Himalayas in 1998.
Are there any other would be camineros starting from Le Puy near the end of August, or at SJPP at the end of September / beginning of October?
