Leaving a religious charm at the Cathedral

I am walking the Camino with a milagros (a small religious charm traditionally used for healing purposes) that was given to me by a friend who is waiting for a kidney transplant. She wants me to leave the blessed charm at the Cathedral Santiago at the end of my walk. Where would be an appropriate place to leave her milagros and say a prayer for her? Is this allowed inside of the Cathedral? The charm is the size of a small coin.

Seeing that it is a blessed article, I would be reluctant to leave it just anywhere for concern that it would be binned.

Maybe put it in the "prayer bowl" in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit? (see explanation here: http://johnniewalker-santiago.blogspot.com/2014/06/when-saints-go-marching-in.html)

Left with an explanatory note, you will have fulfilled your friend's request while commending the milagro to a new owner.

EDIT: Good idea from Al!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Thank you for the great suggestion.

We went to the English mass in one of the side chapels and they had a bowl for prayer intentions. I think it would be wonderful to leave the milagros for your friend in the Cathedral! Sacramentals are important expressions of faith to me. Light a candle too. Buen camino!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Thank you, Jayne! We arrive in Santiago on May 16 and I have two days to do as you suggested.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
