Hi everyone
I am leaving Ottawa Canada on the 24th for SJPP. The butterflies are most definitely there but I am eager to get going. Many thanks to all of you for dishing out some great advice. I am 68 years odd and although somewhat overweight, have trained hard, losing 20 pounds in the process, and feel I can to this. I have lots of time and thanks to very useful advices, I will do this at my own pace, stop when I decide to stop. Excluding water I am carrying 14 pounds. Wish I could speak Spanish but am fluent in French.

For the last few months my wife would tell you I was addicted to this forum getting up at 6 each morning to read the last 24 hours on the forum.

I am booked at l'Esprit du Chemin for the evening of the 26th. Look forward to meeting fellow pilgrims.

Buen camino to all does starting off soon

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I spent my first night at l'Esprit du Chemin last year, it's a great albergue. You've trained hard and done your homework. Now it's time to put one foot in front of the other and experience the true beauty of the Camino. I wish you the very best.

Buen Camino!

@Marcilb:
Are you going straight to Roncesvalles or spending the night in Orisson?

I will also start from Saint Jean on the 27th. Opted for the stopover in order to fight the jet lag

I am that German that speaks some French and fluent Spanish, wearing a green fleece and hiking boots.

see you around - Claudia

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hi Claudia

I am overnighting in Orisson. Your Spanish will be useful. See you in a few days

Whatever happens, it is your Camino. You write the story. Enjoy!

Just to wish you guys staring out now "Buen Camino" and let you know that I'm jealous as hell as I have to wait another 2 weeks! :cry:

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
