Leyre Monestery to Puente la Reina in April

Due to the snow in the Pyrenees, we are figuring to start in Pamplona in early April. However, since we really wanted to see the Monestery also, we were we wondering if we could just get a bus or something to Yesa and walk to Puente la Reina from there. Where are the places to stay and eat on that section?

On the left blue grid click Albergues for Pilgrim lodging, Hospedajes for tourist lodging, and Donde Comer for where to eat. I've never walked the Aragones, but I have visited Leyre and it is amazing. Try to attend vespers or some other service in the church. When I was there the monastery offered very basic lodging, but it seems to have morphed into 3*** luxury!

According to the monastery's website, there are buses from Pamplona to either Yesa or Liedena, and from there you will have to take a taxi. http://www.monasteriodeleyre.com/llegar.htm

There is a huge dispute going on now involving re-routing the Aragones due to more disputes over the reservoir. I will try to find out what impact it has on the route. Leyre isn't right on the Aragones, there will be some backtracking, but it is only 50 kms from Pamplona. Buen camino, Laurie

DON´T miss Leyre! You are so close. My suggestion would be local bus to Sanguesa from Pamplona (a good place to start from in my opinion as I did this on my 1st) then get a taxi up to Leyre. Try to stay overnight and go to the 7 o´clock morning service. Magic. The rooms are simple and very cheap. I´d go back there in a heartbeat! You might like to check out my blog on it:
