lightweight towel

Kiwi-family

Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
We have used microfibre towels in the past, and at 89g they are not exactly heavy.
BUT I toddled off to our local fabric shop and bought some baby muslin - a piece four times larger than the towel (big enough to cover more than your big toe) weighs only 80g. It is reasonably absorbent and dries very quickly.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I did something similar--got a muslin diaper at the local drugstore and it works well on the test runs (which is me using it after a shower at home then hanging it to dry). Someone on this site had said they'd done that so I thought I'd give it a shot. Mine weighs 63 grams dry.

I've used a cotton diaper on my last 4 Caminos and am still happy with the solution. No it does not cover any body parts but it is small, absorbant and dries within no time. It is cheap too!

I also used nappies (diapers!) on my last 3 Caminos. I always take 3, one for drying my body after a shower, one for drying my hair and the third as a pillow cover. They weigh next to nothing and dry really fast. They can also be used as a scarf if it gets chilly or to protect your neck from the sun...very useful items.

I am wondering if anyone has used one of the muslin swaddling blankets for a baby. My other question, where do you find one diaper?

Find someone with a baby and a sense of tradition? I assume that diapers are sold in the quantities required for a baby, which I suppose are virtually infinite. My direct personal knowledge is limited to puppies.

I used a baby muslin on my last camino and found it better than the microfibre towels I had previously used.. it was easier to use, dried faster, stayed softer and smelled better!
