Madrid to Irun

Hi. Does anyone have experience of getting from Madrid to Irun? By bus or train? Via San Sebastian maybe? Plan to launch myself on the del Norte from Irun September 24th. All helpful suggestions most welcome! Buen Camino. Chris

Madrid airport to Irun by bus on Alsa - http://www.alsa.es/portal/site/Alsa - 6h15 arrives 14h15 costs 33.49 euro

By Train http://www.renfe.es - one at 8am and one at 16h10. 5 hours 48 mins 50€

In my opinion, much better the train. You don't have to be always seated, you can go to the a cafe, no traffic jam.
