Hi, I haven't walked the Norte but hope to in the Summer of 2019. From the research I have done and videos I have seen, March on the Norte looks cold and wet and of course unpredictable. I walked the Frances in the Fall and then again in the Spring. I definitely preferred the Fall because it was much dryer. I pick the Summer for the Norte because I feel it will be less wet and warmer, perhaps more crowded but I can deal with the people better then I can the weather. Of course everyone has a preference, you just have to go with your gut as Mother Nature is very unpredictable. Buen Camino, very excited for you.

Boa noite, in March albergues are open. I used to work in greater Porto. Temperature in March can be from 5º C to 20º C. Well, there is much more rain than in Fall, but it changes year by year. You can expect a week without any rain, or 2 to 3 days with heavy downpoors. To give you an idea: https://www.ipma.pt/pt/oclima/normais.clima/1981-2010/014/ For rain , click Precipitação on the right side. Btw. the number of pilgrims is growing every year - you´ll never walk alone! Bom caminho

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Hi I live in northern Portugal on the camino between Caminha and Vila Nova da Cerveira. The comments already left here about the weather sum it up very accurately so I won't add any more. However I would like to inform you of accommodations I offer pilgrims, have a look, we'll take good care of you.

Thanks so much for the info. My husband and I will certainly take you up on it but of course we won't have an exact night/s until we get close to it. Our plan is to leave Valenca and head there for a couple of nights maybe, then head back up to Tui. We are starting from Porto March 7th 2019. Thanks for the clear map, too!
