Hi all. If, like me you have been travelling with just a sleeping bag liner and using the albergue blankets for warmth, please be aware that the municipal in Lubian does not supply blankets. €3 is pretty cheap anyway but you might have to wear a couple of layers overnight. I was warm at lights out but the chill set in the small hours. Never encountered this before all the way from Seville. But this is my first Camino anyway so I’m educating myself. Anyway, keep those boots on the ground everyone and keep eatin’ up them miles Buen Camino

I rarely use albergue blankets. They would be a very good source of the dreaded BB if they were present in an albergue.
I try to stear clear of the blankets.

I think you'll find none of the xunta albergues on the Sanabrés have blankets any more. They are mostly fairly well heated so not having a sleeping bag isn't a problem (for me, at least). Oseira monastery's albergue, which is a cold barn, does have lots of nice warm blankets, which are very necessary (well, they were last December).

In my six times on the Sanabrés I've never encountered bed bugs, but others clearly haven't been as lucky.

Im in Lubian tonight trying to find out if its ok to follow the Camino arrows or take to the road again Anyone ahead care to enlighten me

Hi, My sister and I recently completed the VDLP and Sanabres and one of our most delightful days walking was from Lubián to A Gudiña. We walked on April 11 and we encountered lots of water and snow, but it was well worth it. I would definitely take the trail. Once you get to an old abandoned church (forgot the name) after a playing field, the trail is beyond it and up a bit where you’ll enter a woods. There was one confusing part when the trail turned up hill and the trail was actually in the stream. I suspect there won’t be as much water now so it will be clearer where to go. The landscape was so varied and each part beautiful in its own way. Enjoy, ultreia.

I could not find the trail last November, after following for a while and ending on an uphill climb which disappeared in deep foliage. I had to turn back and go most of the way back to Lubian before I could scramble up onto the road and follow it through. A summer's worth of growth may have obscured the trail until I could not find it. But I was following the flechas until then, and then they simply were not there. Good luck and buen camino.

Hi glauder I've recently completed the Via de la Plata and you can walk the camino path but it was quite wet but passable in some areas. Enjoy.

At the uphill climb , the trail runs up the stream. My sister and I also lost the trail going up through the dense brush, but realized after some study, it follows the stream. We needed to cross over back and forth as we walked up the stream because of the water, but eventually there were markers. We didn’t lose the trail after that.

Had a wonderful walk on the track today.Arrows easy to follow and dry feet. Steep uphills but diverse landscapes Thankyou for your responses.
