My Camino Francés May 15th 2020

I start my Camino On my 31st birthday on the 15th May 2020. I arrive in St Jean Pied De Port on the 13th May and spend 2 nights before I start on the road to Santiago. Anyone else going this time or close, please get in touch.

Departing SJPP on a Friday in May. Being lonely is just not going to be a thing!

Expect several hundred others to set off with you the same day. As an aside, trying to come up with walking partners ahead of time doesn't work out very often. Everyone walks at their own speed and has their own rhythm, and their own preferences. After a few days, most pilgrims "fall in" with a smaller group of fellow pilgrims that's going their speed, and doing their thing. Let these relationships form naturally on the road, rather than trying to construct them in advance.

Hi Rick M,
Thanks for the advise, but It was more to do with the fact I am in SJPP for 2 days before I Start my walk on the 15th May. It was to maybe catch up with other Pilgrims beforehand and chill before we all go and do our thing. I understand the way it go’s on the Camino as my dad has done it and gave me advise. But thanks for your feedback.

I will be a volunteer at the Pilgrim Office in SJPP from May 11 - 18 and walking thereafter. Maybe you will be getting your credential from me. Buen Camino y Feliz Cumpleaños.

Anyone beginning in May should be sure to book their beds in Roncesvalles.
I saw many pilgrims turned away last season because it was full.

Well. If you walk from SJPP to Orisson the first day and then shuttle down, then shuttle up to Orisson and walk the second day, you will arrive in Roncesvalles . . So Day 1 or 2, depending on how fit you are.
