Compostela begins to prepare to accommodate the expected flood of tourists who will land in the city during the summer. Hand in hand with Ad Sanctum Iacobum Peregrinatio (Foundation of the Pilgrimage to Santiago) and in collaboration with the Archdiocese, on 1st June 1 a new shelter will open in the parish of San Antonio complex (Fontiñas.) This was announced by the president of that body, Marcelino Oreja, after visiting the facilities. The manager announced that the works are already "very advanced", which will premiere the units donated by the Church in just over two weeks. The building's capacity is around 200 places, although the offer may be extended to 50 more through the utilization of outer space.
With 850 m2 of surface, Fontiñas refuge is part of a broad program of the foundation to strengthen the network of accommodation in Santa Maria de Melide, Pontevedra and Bando.
