On the Camino del Norte, between Bayonne and Irun, a new hostel will open in Saint Jean de Luz on 1st of May 2020

Thanks for that information. Just a technical question is the walk between Bayonne and Irun technically part of the CN or does it have a different name, or no name at all. I was talking to a woman who started in Bayonne when we were in the municipal albergue in Irun and when I asked her the same question she said I have no idea and we had a little laugh.

It's the Voie Littoral, and the first part of the Via de Bayona, which goes inland from Irun and eventially ends up in Burgos.

I will be walking from Bayonne starting July 2nd. I'm looking to stop in Saint Jean de Luz overnight and would love to save money and stay in this new hostel. Might you have any further information on this new place? Name? Phone number? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

We didn’t stay in it in 2021, but it was open and looked incredibly tidy! I would definitely check it out and let the forum know how it went.

There is an hostel too at Bayonne. It's : refuge St Jacques 7 rue Gosse. It's close to the Cathedral
