New opening hours of Pilgrims´ Office

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
John has the world gone mad we in the uk have just put our clocks forward one hour, and you are having to get up one hour earlier.

Its an early bird that catches the compostela !!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a reason for the earlier opening, John?
I recall that there was never much of a line before we opened at 9am in September.
Maybe they just knew of the opening time.
I can see those who are on a flight, bus or train schedule getting a bit more time.

I look forward to welcoming in those early morning pilgrims next month

Hola

I understand your point. There are a few reasons for this:

In the busier months pilgrims start to queue from as early as 7am and by 9am there can be more than 100 pilgrims waiting.

The early start will give the Office time to be set up, tubos stocked and computers booted - with a 9am start pilgrims have to wait outisde until this happens.

In the busiest times we will try only writing compostelas and not entering data into the computers which takes time - rather the data can be entered in quieter times like 8am!

Already there must be 300 - 400 compostelas arranged in advance for groups arriving - we will still stamp the credenciales but the compostelas will be written in advance so larger organised groups don't have to queue and make the waiting time longer.

NB - The "Amigos" and other volunteers will not be asked to work from 8am unless they are particularly morning people - although as I remember it Grayland you were usually only arriving home from clubbing at that time

I would have loved to reach a little bit earlier to Santiago, just to meet up with @JohnnieWalker . The Spanish guy who was there told me that you where there in the morning, and I arrived about 3:15PM.

Well, next year, wake up at 5:30, leave Padron by 6:30, and I’ll be able to buy a cafe con leche to you

John:

I am on the 2 - 16 June Amigo team. A early start is fine by me if there is an early morning Mass nearby. I do not need to attend every day. But Sundays...

Also, one assumes the Amigos would not be working a 13-hour day?

I am really looking forward to my upcoming service.

Groups......do you like to be notified in advance that a group is coming? Is five people considered a group? If so, I can notify you. And if so, do we just send an email (and to whom?)
