Just finished the Invierno yesterday. For the first time ever, 12 consecutive days without a drop of drizzle or rain. Gorgeous sunny crisp and cool days with early morning frost in the fields. Embraced the opportunity for a full day leisurely outing to Pico Sacro. Very windy at the top. The views were breathtaking without a cloud in the sky. Happy to report no Reina Lupa dragons were spotted or harmed on this hike. So worth a visit. Stayed with Carmiña in Deseiro a wonderful treat. May you enjoy some of my pictures.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Gorgeous pictures! Is there a path to the top or did you follow the road?

And where did you walk from?

I remember we talked about doing this on the Sanabrés planning thread, but I don’t think any of us had actually done it.

We walked from Albergue Reina Lupa in Deseiro which is on the N-525 30m off the Camino. Walked the Camino in reverse and used Google maps and asked the locals walking. As always when you ask 1-2 people you get 5 different answers . There is one actual road up and multiple dirt trails through the woods which all head up towards Pico Sacro & you meander along. For me the descent always worse than going up. Well worth it. We enjoyed making it a one day side trip. I do think it can be combined with last day towards Santiago if you stay in Deseiro or in the Albergue in Outeiro which is nowhere with no services, though it would turn into a long day. I like to linger & saunter in to Santiago on the last day of the Invierno to enjoy the last 10.459 km. Those decimal points are so crazy. They make me laugh out loud.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
