He fell off a wall . A passer by called the emergencies. Unfortunately the young man did not make it.

May he rest in peace.

A very sad event. Another local news source has a different interpretation stating that the young man was not a pilgrim. It may take some time for the full circumstances to become clear.

Yes. Speculating here, but if he wore a backpack AND set himself down on a high wall without removing it, such a backward tumble was practically assured.

Condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

If the paper from Coruna is rigjt, this was Darwin theory tested: he was apparently playing balancing games walking on top of tne safety rail.

When the time comes for me to leave this earth I would have no objections to having it all end on a Camino. As it is my trust has me being cremated and some of my ashes spread there anyways...

I walked the Camino Frances last year. Even though you are safe 98% of the way, there could be some narrow slopes or ways, and some open forest bridges you cross. Having in mind your heavy bag, a second of lost concentration could lead you in a dangerous outcome.
