Porto

viadukt

New Member
Hello! In June I start my Camino Porto. Last year I walked the Camino Frances and it was relly great.
However, I have some questions:
I wonder if the route from Porto to Santiago is well marked (as Canimo Frances)?
Is there only one way, or it is possible to walk for several different paths?
When and where to take credencial in Porto?

Thanx,
Blaz

Shalom Blaz Greetings from Jerusalem!
After the Camino Frances you will find the walk from Porto a bit short, maybe plan a continuation to Fistera or Mucia or both as well. Porto is a beautiful town do give yourself some time there too. Credencial? At the Se - Cathedral - easily found and the office is manned from 1000 perhaps even earlier. There are sereral ways out of Porto, I walked the inland route since it was spring and the country was alive with wildflowers. In June you will probably find this way very warm no flowers so do try the coastal route-the sea breeze and the ocean should help you along. The Camino Portugues is well marked but not with the intensity of Camino Frances - you won't get lost. You will enjoy Ponte de Lima hope to catch market day, the church in Rubias, Pontevedra stop also there by the fish market, and Padron. The Brierley book is very helpful but you don't really need it and for once his maps work since you are mostly walking north!
