Been fortunate to have experienced the whole of the Frances in 2016. If all the planets line up I may be able to fly out on the 16th of April and walk from St Jean on the 17th. I am mindful that it is Easter weekend the end of that week. Asking the wise and knowledgable on here whether the route should be not overcrowded as I should be 2-3 days ahead of any Easter weekend Camino rush.

Can someone remind me of the excellent transfer company that runs from Biarritz airport to St Jean? Name escapes me.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
It's so hard to predict how busy it will be in advance; sometimes you can get caught in a "wave" that dissipates a day or two later. That said, I imagine the 17 April will be VERY busy, as just about every school/university/company in Europe will be on holiday from Friday 12 April, in time for Holy Week which starts on the Monday.

FYI, here's a recent post from a forum member who was in St Jean a couple of days ago:

The company that does transfers is Express Bourricot.

Thanks for the link Monsap. As Jan says it will be the beginning of the Easter holidays but I'm hoping it won't be so busy it with be a bed race over the first few days if I was to start from St Jan on the 17th. What does your experience say how busy it is likely to be? Should be a couple of days ahesd of the Long Weeked walkers.
As long as the 16th of April is not a French public holiday I should be fine.

Everytime week before Easter there is a lot of Spanish people because in Spain is "Semana Santa ". It's holiday's week. But there is a lot of albergues all way long. At the pilgrims office volunteers will give you a list of all the albergue updated. At SJPP no one is sleeping outside it's the same on the way

Well that's the flight to Biarritz and transfer to St Jean booked for the 16th April. So the new adventure will start on the 17th, anyone else starting that day.
So here's to the friends I may make along the way. Honesty made friends for life on my first Camino Experience.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Eeeeeeeee! How exciting! Only a few days to go...

Hope you have an absolutely fabulous time. Buen Camino!!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
