When we get to Santiago and get our compostella, can we get a tube or something else to keep the compostella in so that it is not damaged on the way home?

Yep. Costs a euro at the pilgrims office and keeps it safe and tidy.

You can also buy a tube at most of the souvenir shops for a euro. The pilgrims office was out of them the day I was there.

Buying the tube ( tubo) at the pilgrim office helps support the office.

You can also get it laminated for 1 euro at a little shop near the Pilgrim Office. Jill

Was just having dinner with the husband of the person who apparently suggested the price be brought up to 2€: said it brought in 400K to the cathedral last year.
