Roman Camino?

On several stretches of the Camino Frances one walks on an original roman road, most of it perfectly preserved and functional.
Looks like that formed the early 'backbone' of the Camino for a long time through the history.

Which roman 'Via' was that, by name, and where to find more information about it? :?:

This is serious work and after reading it you will know all about roman engineering of roads and bridges. Should be "compulsory reading" for all History enthousiasts before starting the Camino Francès.

Wonderful site!
How awful that parts of the roads are still being destroyed today.
