Those who have had the great pleasure of overnighting in Villares de Orbigo and enjoying Pablo and Belen's great hospitality and lovely albergue will be saddened to hear that they have decided to move on to fresh pastures. The passage below was posted by them on the Albergue's facebook page on October 1st:

Friends,

Five years already ago we decided to change our course and start with great enthusiasm and effort this project. It took shape gradually Thanks to the generosity of everyone who passed by and shared with us a piece of their lives and their wisdom and balance. To everyone who have helped us in a thousand are, thanks.

With great GREAT SORROW we have taken the hard choice of leaving the house. We take with us everything we learned and all that we have shared with you that will surely help us to undertake new projects with confidence. We only hope that we have managed to get all our respect and affection across.

But the project is left in good hands! Christine follows... A Pilgrim with a great heart and a great desire to make people feel at home and ALSO who have brought the best patxaran ever...

And, who knows, we may meet again some day. Ultreia friends
Thank you.
Paul and Bethlehem

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
The good news is that Christine is WONDERFUL! I stayed there last night with six other pilgrims, and had a fabulous dinner (she LOVES to cook) and a warm room! She sent us off in the rain this morning ( not her fault, of course ) with a fine breakfast!
Please welcome Christine!

Hi Oth, Christine was there with Pablo and Belen when I stayed in early September and she was indeed most welcoming but I will dearly miss Pablo and Belen's presence whenever I might next get an opportunity to visit and most of all Lua, Belen's dog.

Can anybody let me know where to contact Pablo and Belén?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
This was my favorite albergue on the whole camino. I walked the extra miles to stop there because of the favorable comments about it. Pablo and Balen and there albergue were everything I was told it would be. glad it will be in good hands.
