:?: We are two first time Australian Pilgrims in our sixties-originally we planned to walk from Saria to Santiago but have heard that that is just too crowded in August and accommodation is too difficult to get. Is the road from Santiago to Finisterre a better option ie is it possible to get into refugios and hostels in \August during that period and can you get a pilgrim passport in Santiago to walk to Finisterre?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

i did the santiago - finistere last june with no problems getting into the albergue. i did hear it is more popular now, people this may/june had problems as the albergues are smaller usually 20 people. the race begins on a new section. Don't want to race, try the camino norte.

Finisterre

I´m just back in Santiago this morning after the walk to Finisterre. The albergues were VERY full, and quite a number of people were either on mattresses in the hallways, or even without mattresses at all as the albergue had run out. Now this is just before the July 25 feast so perhaps it´s a particularly busy time but it was certainly a change from the Camino Frances up to Santiago where, since leaving St Jan on June 21 I had absolutely no problem at all with accommodation and have wondered, from time to time, what the fuss has been about numbers.
