Hey, second time doing Sarria to Santiago route

Travelling on a Saturday, last year there was NO direct bus on Sat/Sun from Santiago to Sarria. Is that still the same case currently?

Is it still a case of going from Santiago to Lugo and then onto Sarria from there?

My flight landed at 4pm last year, by the time I got to Sarria after 3 buses (airport to downtown Santiago, Santiago to Lugo, Lugo to Sarria) it was 9.15pm.

Thanks in advance

Pretty much! It is not hard to do. For the train you have to get to the train station downtown. On the bus you can go to Lugo directly.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Check the map. There is a road from Lugo to Monforte de Lemos which passes through Sarria. There is no other highway that passes through Sarria ... you have to travel via Lugo or Monforte de Lemos. Hence there are no direct buses Saturday Sunday or any other day. Same goes for train. You have to transfer to get to the rail line from Monforte de Lemos to A Coru~a that passes through Sarria.

We opted to splurge with a 140 Euro taxi ride rather than a 3 hour wait in the Santiago train station and then the two leg journey to Sarria. It was well worth it for us.
