Some Camino Writing

As I have time I continue to type up my journals from my first Camino in 2015.
From July 19, 2015 El Burgo Ranero, I was reflecting on two scenes from my journey, the first near Zubri early in the journey, this encounter on an alternate path (very alone) somewhere between Carrion and El Burgo.

Weeks later I marveled at a flock of sheep in a neat row making their way across a freshly harvested field of grain. Yes even the livestock get to glean the fruit of the Lord. Five acres or more they pastured together a dance choreographed by a man his dogs and his faithful burro trailing behind. The sheep so accustomed to the ritual no longer needed the dogs who followed at their masters feet. Such simplicity such divine lessons a shepherd and his obedient sheep reaping the benefit of following their master.
The sun blazed hot no doubt this shepherd had shade and water prepared for his flock. Once satisfied with the fallen grain.
I was walking my own path with my shepherd listening to His voice as I journeyed from meal to meal, fonte to fonte, camas to camas.
I glanced at the shepherd my vision covering the 100 meters in an instant. The shepherd glances at me. I raised my hand in greeting, he returned the same gesture.
No words, no touch, a simple wave. A pause in the epic of humanity a pause in space in time two pilgrims acknowledging each other’s journey hearts of both lifted.
