St. Michael's Way Camino Route, South West Cornwall

I was down in Cornwall on holiday last week and walked the St Michael’s Way from North to South Coast (Lelant to St Michael’s Mount). It is thought that the way was traditionally used by Irish and Welsh pilgrims en route to Santiago in order to avoid sailing through the treacherous waters around Land’s End.

It is a nice walk, way-marking is reasonably ok (but I would definitely recommend taking an OS map), reminiscent in places of some of the trails in Galicia and has some wonderful view of both coastlines and St Michael’s Mount sitting out in Mounts Bay.

Well worth a look if you are down that way with 4 or 5 hours to spare.

Regards
Mig
