Starting from Sarria on April 10 2008

Hi there, Im starting the route from Sarria, then plan to do rest over 4 days, as I can only get one week off work. Is this realistic? What will weather be like? Was planning on only taking a fleece and light rain-mac to cover, if raining? Will I need a sleeping bag?
Thanks,S.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Sarria is about 100-112 km from Santiago, so you'd be walking at least 25k each day. Doable, but doesn't give you much time to rest if you get injured or to stop & see things along the way (like the monastery at Samos). I'd take a sleeping bag.

Rain is predicted in Santiago next week with low temperatures down to about 8 degrees. It will likely be colder at a higher altitude and it always feels colder in the albergues as they are not heated. If you don't want to carry a sleeping bag you may want to consider staying in hostales or pensiones - or even a casa rural if there's one available. Many albergues have blankets but not all of them. Take a good rain jacket - it's spring and weather is unpredictable.
