April 4th from SJPDP - May 5, 2017 - Complete!
Hi everyone,

I'm looking to start the Porto - Santiago section of the CP around September 1st. I walked from SJPDP to Santiago in 2017, and am looking forward to my second camino experience. If anyone is starting around the same time, or has any suggestions based on when they do the CP, please let me know!

Cheers,
Duane

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Duane

We did the CP last year and had a great time.

First, spend a day in Porto, it is a great city.

Second, don't walk out of Porto, it is very industrialized. Take a train north (other posts on Ivar will tell you how), we went 10 stops, I think, got off the train and walked West. We used google to find our way and just walked until we ran into the Atlantic Ocean -- you can't miss it We then turned right/north and walked on a delightful board walk to our first stop. The ocean is beautiful along here and the walk is easy as it is on a boardwalk.

Finally, we found the second and third day to be difficult. It was all cobblestones and it took its toll on our feet and calves., just be prepared.

Hi Bob, I am starting my Porto - SdC walk on 7 August. Can you please suggest albergue or hostel for one night accommodation in Porto for two senior ladies. I would appreciate this as we would like to spend the day in Porto after arriving at the Porto airport at 06.15 and maybe it is a good idea to at least book that first night.
