Hi,
Can anyone tell me if you qualify for a Compostela if you begin your walk in Vigo. I checked in the Brierley Guide, calculated the distance from Redondela to Santiago and then added the distance from Vigo to Redondela and it seemed to be just over 100K. I am taking my wife and son on their first Camino and I think it would be nice for them to get one. Not such a big deal for me as I have mine from the Frances! Thanks

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Yes, Vigo to Santiago qualifies, whether you go on the standard route or include the Spiritual Variant. Just remember to get your two stamps (per person) for each day of walking.

Edited 16h30. The official distance from Vigo to Santiago is exactly 101 km .so it qualifies for a Compostela if as been said you show up with a credential with 2 stamps per day .

the pilgrims office officially recognizes 3 distances as being checked , the entire route from Porto to Santiago by Barcelos , Valença/Tui and Caldas de Reis is 240 km.
the coastal route from Porto by Caminha and Baiona to Santiago , 280 km and the coastal route from Porto to Vila do Conde or Caminha to Valença combined with the central route by Barcelos or Vila Nova de Cerveira and Valença 260 km.
As mentioned above , these distances will be noted at the certificates of distance.

Bom caminho

I checked this recently with the Confraternity of St James in the UK and then said that either Baiona to Santiago or Vigo to Santiago was accepted.

You are welcome. This is a lovely route. I walked it in 2019 when I walked the whole way from Porto and will lead a group on it a couple of times next year.
