Bus takes 6 hours and train 5 hours. Do not think taxi is a solution for most peregrinos. I would guess at least 500- 700 euros.

Alsa Bus

do a daily bus from Santiago to Leon for 30 euros from 08:00 am arriving 14:0o pm . nice scenic trip taking in some of the camino ... same times 7 days a week

I'm sure it's expensive, but in my experience the rate is about 1 euro per km for long distance hauls, so that would bring it down from the 500-700 estimate. With such a long ride, you may also be able to negotiate something off the standard rate. Not the way I would ever get to Leon, but to each his/her own! Buen camino, Laurie

As already stated the cheapest is take the bus.
