I have yet to walk my first camino. I have been reflecting on why I have made the decision to walk it, as I am sure many others have and do. I would like to share something that I am sure will help me. As a newbie to walking I have been taking training walks for the last 6 weeks (I am doing the Ingles on the 1st of September). These walks have been along a local canal (I live in Wolverhampton, England where it is very flat). Last week I came upon a little dog who had fell into the canal and was clinging to the bank. After pulling her out I thought how lucky it was that I was there to help. This week, under a bridge at an isolated part of the canal I found a woman cyclist in the water. She could not swim, could not reach the side and was in a pretty exhausted condition. This time I could only reflect on the expression "God moves in mysterious ways". If I had not decided to do a camino. If I had not needed to train. If I had not decided to use the canal to do so. If I had not chosen to go that particular way. If I had not gone that day (I do not normally walk on Thursdays). If I had not gone at that time (earlier than normal). If If If!!!!!! What else does my camino have in store for me?
