They are not that convinced in Gipuzkoa

I have wonderful memories of the albergue in Beasain ( Vasco Interior ) It is a big albergue, so room enough, especially on this lesser travelled Camino but yes, an older population and also senior hospis. So a very sensible decision!

Now that you mention it, in my experience about half of the volunteers at albergues seemed older—perhaps because I walked a less busy time so younger volunteers were in school, but I think except the summer the age of walkers and workers tends to be older. The private albergues and some of the city ones seemed a bit younger (if I stayed in albergues my preference was religious over private over city). I wonder if albergues will have difficulty finding enough volunteers
