Are services available on Camino Olvidado and the San Salvador in October?

Hi Camino Folks. If I set out from Irun in mid-September and detour off the Del Norte in Bilbao to walk the Olvidado to La Robla and then head North on the San Salvador through Oviedo to get back to the Del Norte, would services be available on the Olvidado and San Salvador? It's an open question because I'm looking for any feedback from anyone who has been on those caminos in October timeframe. Too cold in that time of year? Not any services open in that time of year? Thank you for any replies.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I can only speak to the San Salvador leg. I walked in early October last year and found food and shelter without any trouble. I did contact albergues in advance which is helpful to them. Often hospitaler@s are coming from away and need advance notice. Can’t predict weather then, but I lucked out - mostly sunshine. Fog over the “queen’s stage,” but kept things cool on that rather strenuous day 😎. Buen camino!

That's great news. Thank you for sharing...

Same as above...only walked the San Salvador the year my husband passed...tail end of covid...and there were services as expected. Only one albergue had only two spaces available...of a whopping four! Otherwise a lovely route... normally very quiet, although I wound up walking with a full dozen Spaniards!!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Do you mean pack transport? If so, when I walked the CF-San Salvador in 2021 I developed tendonitis part way through. A gentleman replied to my request for pack transport saying that he was committed to covering that route. When I reached Pajares he informed me that he was no longer available. The point being if someone offers to do pack transfers be sure they're available as long as you'll need them.

I use Alltrails a lot here in the US, in Iceland, on the Via Podiensis and a bit on the CF. Will it be useful on the Norte? For example, people here say the "warm up" from Biarritz to Irun (or...
Last May I walked the first part of the Norte in the opposite direction, from Santander to Irun. Since I only had two weeks and couldn't reach Santiago anyway, I wanted to swim against the tide...
Tomorrow I fly to Bilbao to start my 5th stint on the Camino. I did the Frances in three parts (2016, 2017 and 2022). Last year I did the Portuguese from Porto. I did the first 200 km of the...
I thought I had this all figured out, but I have ended up with 2 train tickets from San Sebastian (I don't even know if it's the airport or the town) to Irun, instead of ONE that goes all the way...
