September 2019
Hi all,
We are a group of 7 from Cape Town doing the Camino in September 2019. We land in Porto and want to get to Sarria, what is the best way to get to Sarria, and back to Porto from Santiago when we finish.

Thank you.

You can go by train. This takes all day with a 4 hour wait in Vigo Return from Santiago has more choice.
DeutchBahn
will give the times in English. The Spanish Train Company RENFE runs the trains.

I do not know what long distance buses can do.

Timetables and logistics will depend on your landing time in Porto. The journey is doable in a day but not an afternoon. Happy planning.

For a group of 7, you could also hire a vehicle to take you. Caminofacil quotes a rate of 407 Euro. Certainly pricier but no waiting a you can determine your own start time which might be helpful. There are several direct buses each day from Santiago to Porto.

Am I to understand that you are walking Sarria to SdC on the Camino Francés? It would be better logistically to walk from Tui to SdC on the Camino Portugués. Or must it be the former?

Hi Michael,
We all wanted to do the route from Sarria, we looked at starting from Tui, but decided on Sarria instead.
Thank you for your input.

Hi,
The 1 member of our group said he will a arrange a taxi for us from Porto to Sarria. We arrive 6 o clock in the morning in Porto and don't want to sit and wait for a bus or train.
Regards
Hein
