Transport from SJDPP or Roncesvalles to Santiago

Hi - we are planning to walk a section of the Le Puy Route in April this year finishing in SJDPP or Roncesvalles. We would like then to use a bus/ train to get to Santiago de Compostella. Does anyone have suggestions? We have done the Le Puy to Conques section already and thought it fantastic. Bronwyn and Laraine

You can travel by Alsa bus from Bayonne (Bayona on the website) to Santiago.
It costs €93 and takes 13 hours - from 4:15 am to 17h30

Or you could carry on to Pamplona and take a train from there to Lugo and then a bus to Santiago.

The Renfe train:

The Renfe website does not show the connecting trains for some reason, so you have to locate them yourself.

Many thanks for the replies. We now are considering doing the section from Aire Sur L'Adour to Pamplona and then train from there (via Madrid as suggested). Would be good to walk the whole route however the number of people doing the Spanish section is daunting after the tranquility of doing the Le Puy Conques section. Best regards, Laraine

however the number of people doing the Spanish section is daunting
So you can push your comfort zone and get out of your armchair to walk hundreds of miles in a foreign land, but add a few people and you are daunted?!

Laraine - take no notice of Falcon! He knows what you mean about the crowded paths on the Camino Frances.
You could walk the whole way if you continued on the Norte.
