Hello Pilgrims,

If you have been looking for a way to say thank you for all that the Camino has given you, look no further: American Pilgrims on the Camino is pleased to announce the Autumn 2012 Hospitalero Training Course!

Join us in Portland, Oregon and learn what it takes to support other pilgrims on the road to Santiago.

Training begins Friday, October 19 at 4 p.m. and concludes on Sunday October 21 at 5 p.m. The weekend training includes all instruction, meals and lodging. Participants are required to stay on site to simulate camino living and to attend the entire training. Please plan your travel to accommodate the training timing.

Instruction addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of pilgrims, as well as the daily routine of being a volunteer innkeeper, including cooking, house cleaning, and self-care.

Anyone who has walked at least 100 km (or biked 200 km) of the Camino, and is a member of American Pilgrims on the Camino, is eligible to attend.

Registration information and both mail in forms as well as online registration is available on our website http://www.americanpilgrims.com/camino/ ... leros.html.

If you have any questions, please contact hospitalerotraining@americanpilgrims.com.

¡Buen Camino!

I also posted a blip in the Hospitalero section here...so far no one has signed up for this training. :(

We may be coming but my wife just had serious foot surgery on Monday and we have to wait to see if she will be able to handle the trip and training.
Hopefully we can make it. (Contact Martha and see if any of the Seattle group are coming)

I hope your wife has a speedy recovery. Foot surgery is never fun!

I spoke with Kathy this past weekend at our APOC Chapter walk in Portland and there still was no one signed up. I hope that changes! I was hoping to help out but I will be somewhere in Spain...either in Santiago, or on my way to Finisterre around the time of the training!

If you know of anyone in Seattle interested tell them to get on it with the registration!!!! Time's a wastin'.... :)

Heather I would of loved to go to Portland but my Oct is swamped so I have to wait till March for Santa Barbara! I need to go back to Portland. See you in Az in Jan!

You know it!!! I might have you take me on a hike or two if you have free time. I'm looking forward to checking out Phoenix.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
