Changes: albergue in Melgar de Arriba has closed. ...
Has anyone stayed in the Añe albergue lately?
I'm trying to decide if I'll walk there from Segovia or if I'll take the bus to Los Huertos and walk into Sta. Maria Real de Nieva.
How bad is it? I don't remember any place to buy food there either...
Thank you LT, I am starting on March 31st and will find this document very useful.
Joe
Joe, we'll be right behind you. Any updates will be appreciated.
Annie:
I do not blog but I will periodically post on accommodations.
Joe
Glad to be of service. I'll send you a pm @Rob the Slob . By the way we are neighbors!
LT:
One item that might make this accommodation sheet even more helpful would be addresses ie: Plaza de Ayuntamiento 1, 28760 Tres Cantos or do the arrows take you right there?
Joe
Very easy to find Ayto in Tres Cantos. This is a very simple description from my journal of how you can find it:LT:

A few have already answered your question but your are right, the addresses would be a great addition. This list list is not mine, it belongs to the Amigos de Madrid, I just shared information which I thought others would appreciate. I took on the Plata list which can be found in the resources section. I haven't even walked the Madrid yet so I am not able to share any first hand information.
Very easy to find Ayto in Tres Cantos. This is a very simple description from my journal of how you can find it:
"Camino runs paralel to autovia or even on tarmac bici route for last few kms - hard on feet!
When you reach 4th bridge over autovia take it towards Centro. At first roundabout take left and first right through railroad underpass. On righthand side you'll find Mercadona market open until 21:30, so you can buy some food and still find Ayunamiento opened. If you just want to stock up that's less than 1km detour.
A little bit further down the street on right there is Ayuntamiento (photo39). Employees there are very friendly and the room for four in the cellar is nice too. It has two windows to open, some furniture but only one electric socket! (photo40) Toilets are separated, very clean and the water is boiling hot... They close Ayunamiento at 21:00 and you're locked inside until morning."
Ultreia!
Well, don't know exactly when they LET you out because I was kind of "thrown out" by the policeman at 8 on Saturday morningKinkyOne:
Thanks, I found it on Google maps. I was just suggesting that the addition of addresses might help. I usually explore the area after I check in. According to the map it looks like there are lots of eating options in the area. I am looking forward to this Camino because it is mostly rural. What time do they let you out in the morning?

Joe,
As K1 mentioned, the staff at the Ayuntamiento are very friendly. The instructions I was given were very explicit - in by 9:00PM, out by 6:00AM. When I arrived at the door at 6:00AM (precisely) a security official was there to let me out.
There are quite a few eating places nearby. On the recommendation of the lady at the Ayto. who checked me in I had dinner at Rosa's, just around the corner, and was well satisfied.
