Via de la Plata/Sanabres

Time of past OR future Camino

Just an observation for those on or headed to the Via de la Plata or Sanabres. We spent 5 days from Salamanca to Montamarta just past Zamora (doing short stages). The second night in El Cubo we encountered ~20 pilgrims & they dispersed from there - we saw 1 of those on night 4 and 2 others on night 5. Then we had to go forward to Ourense to stay on schedule to meet friends in Santiago. Day 2 today from Ourense & we have not seen another pilgrim until the end of the day in Castro Dozon in a bar! Maybe as we get closer to where the Invierno joins in we will see some more! Just so glad to not be in the fray of the Frances! Buen Camino

Just finished walking from Ourense to Santiago (now in Ferrol starting the Ingles). Didn't see many pilgrims the entire way until a day or so out of Santiago. Didn't seem like there were a lot of facilities open but I had booked ahead so maybe I wasn't paying proper attention.

I expect to see some as we join the route from the Invierno.

We are out here! Most nights over the last few weeks there have been between 5 and 12 pilgrims in the albergues. There are definitely more people walking since Ourense.

Never forget. The Way has his value because of the people and you have time to talk to god.

We are in Santa Marta de Tera tonight. The albergue is full. There seems to be a bit of a wave - a group began at Granja for the Sanabrés.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
