Does any one know if it is possible to catch local transport from Villa del Bierzo to O'Cebreiro or Piedrafita do Cebreiro? It seems like little towns are missed by mainline busses.

It's Villafranca del Bierzo and the answer is, yes to Piedrafita del Cebreiro.

Yes, of course.

At least you can take the bus from Madrid to Santiago. It stops in Villafranca and in Pedrafita do Cebreiro, 4,5 km walking from O Cebreiro.

Bus to O'Cebreiro

...and there is usually a taxi waiting at the bus stop to take people up to O'Cebreiro if you don't want to walk up the hill - if it is very misty you won't see much of the view on the way up.
