Walking the Ingles in May

I plan to walk a Camino (haven't decided which one) in 2014
Hey folks,

I just completed the Camino Ingles a couple weeks ago - ended up taking 6 days because my companion came down with a case of 'Camino Toes' after the first day, and so day 2 was Pontedeume to Mino, and then day 3 was Mino to Betanzos. In Betanzos, she took the better part of valor and hopped a bus to Santiago.

I continued on to Meson Novo (GREAT hotel!) and then the Hotel San Vicente, and finally into Santiago.

I got rained on pretty good during the climb from the Bar Julia up to the top of the hill, but other than that the weather was kind from May 3-8 while I was on the road.

Some notes:

Everything is still VERY well waymarked. Could have walked it without a guidebook, but the book was comforting.

Mino is a lovely town - if you're not in a hurry, there's a Pension on the main drag that's very nice

Sigueiro is also a lovely town - wish I could have spent more time there

The climb from the Bar Julia is not as tough as everyone makes out. But you can and should send your pack ahead to the Meson Novo if you're staying there.

The latter stages are short of fuentes, so be prepared, but the farmers are kind about filling your water bottle if you just ask.

All in all, a good walk!
