I hope this is the right place for this.

We are a hiking couple that have done quite a few long-distance hikes around the world, but non that hit us in the feels as much as the Camino. We have dedicated our YouTube channel this past year to our Caminho Português journey.

We just released a new video today in the hopes that some Camino travellers might find it useful - it's entirely about what you should pack. We'd be interested to spur some conversation on how people pack for such a trip, so please leave a comment here or on the video. We are not affiliated with any brands, and only recommend products that stood the test of many miles.

Here's the video, we'd love for you to check it out:

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Good one. Good for beginners, to get some of the basics right. For tops though, I reckon that extra fine merino wool is much better than polyester. It dries fast and breathes well and doesn’t hold odour. Shoes is good but again I have found that a good pair of open hiking sandals is as good, and you can alternate with shoes when the going is rough. You’ve left out a first aid kit. This is an absolute essential. I’ve seen many injuries on the Camino’s I’ve done. Tents are handy I guess but a huge weight factor which is a real problem. I’ve never taken one, for that reason. Agree with you about coffee. Plenty good coffee on the Camino’s. Well done. Enjoy your next camino!
