Camino Portugese
Hello!

I'm planning on walking the Camino with my father July of 2016. I intend on hiking the interior route, and my question is what is the weather like during July on the camino? I plan on starting in Porto. Is it cooler because its closer to the coast than the spanish routes? Unexpected showers? winds?
Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

I started the interior route from Lisbon on Aug 3 this year and it was incredibly hot for the first five days or so. It was a bit cooler after that but I have had a couple of hot days, 28-30 C, since Porto so i would imagine that July could be hotter. The suggested stages can easily be shortened most of the time not to totally exhaust yourself. I am now in Valencia/Tiu and with rain and lots of wind today I took a rest day. It often rains in Galicia they say!!!

In June, we experienced incredibly hot weather, right through, apart from a curiously couple of fresh, rainy days. Frankly, no one can really tell you how the weather will be, as you must realize that climate seems to be topsy- turvy nowadays. What we experienced was not typical!
