Curious about the temperature in June on the Primitivo? Sleeping bag or liner? Crowds? Also, flying into Bilbao - train or bus to Oveido? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I walked the primitivo during 2nd half of June/2014. Lucky with weather, only faced 2hrs of rain, Temp in 25+ range.

Depending where you will be sleeping (alberques, hostels or hotels), light sleeping bag is always best. Crowd has been increasing on the Primitivo. We were about 20 on any given day. Much less than Frances of course.

Trains are slower along the coast. Or one has to travel via other major city inland to get faster trains (Renfe). Quickest way would be to take the ALSA bus, 3.5 hrs direct. If you google "Alsa Bilbao oviedo", to get bus schedule/price.

Hi, I am walking in June and from what I Gather it could be cold at night and in the Morning. 4 years ago I walked from Astorga to SDC in June and I had all sorts of weather, from mid 30's to low teens, with Rain.

I did the Portuguese route early Sept and was unlucky to have a week of rain, and the week prior to my walk there had been a heatwave.

Galicia/Austurias are pretty green for a reason, they get rain.

As regards getting to Oviedo, I booked with ALSA on their luxury buses from Santander to Oviedo, it was 13 euros and its cheaper when you book in advance.
