Hi

I am a new pilgrim taking part in the final part of the Galician way from Sept 8th for 7-10 days? Just curious as to the weather conditions at that time of the year? Do we need to bring rain coats?
Thanks

Someone here had a great quote--"There liars, damn liars, and "My Fair Lady"--The rain in Sapain falls mainly on Galicia"

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I coined the quote when I arrived in June 1998 in Santiago in heavy rain.

In my imagination I thought I would walk up the cathedral steps in bright sunshine wearing just a T shirt, shorts and suncream. Ha!

You most definately will need a coat because it can also be cold. Check the FAQ's for which sort of coat you might want to have. I wear a Berghaus gortex, the one in the photo.

Sod's law says you will arrive in T shirt etc. I got sunburned last December in Galicia on two days so just be prepared for anything.
