What is a reasonable cost for transportation?

Hi, all,

I am finding that there are more than a few people who would like to start in Lisbon but change plans when they see the distances of more than 30 with no short alternatives.

I am also learning that there are several albergue/hostal owners along the Caminho Portugues who are more than willing to provide transportation for pilgrims who do not want to or cannot walk some of the stages of more than 30 kms with no accommodation in between. Publicizing this in some organized way might spur more traffic, which in turn might spur more accommodations, which would then remove the need for the transportation. SO.....

I´m wondering how much you would be willing to spend for this service, or how you would price it. A per km price? A per ride price? A cost going up as the number of riders goes up?

This is not a scientific survey, I understand, but I´m interested in hearing a mix of opinions here. Thanks, Laurie

I'm PMing you Laurie

The one and only taxi ride I took on the Frances ran around 1E per km...which was fine with me. So..I'd be willing to incur about the same cost, if there was the need, this time around.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I agree with ksam. About 1-1.2 E/km is within range.
