I'll need to bus ahead and skip a few stages of the meseta. Which towns can I bus to Leon from?

I'm 2 days into the meseta and very much liking it! Sadly, I will need to skip ahead at some point to make it to Leon by Friday for a friend's wedding. Hence the question.

You can take the bus from Carrion then and save four days that way.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

my first thought too ;- )
...the ALSA bus from Burgos to Leon makes several stops. I used it many years ago, and it had stops at most of the major towns between Burgos and Leon, notably Carrion, Fromista, & Sahagun. Check ALSA's schedule for that route. Buen Camino.

Why do so many people want to skip the Meseta? I never understood this. I understand time restraints but....two separate times we've gone just to walk the Meseta. Only place I've ever been where you could walk and hear nothing.
Read the thread - they need to skip ahead to attend a wedding.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Not true! I definitely heard myself pining for a cup of coffee! Seriously, though, we thought the Meseta was one of highlights of the Frances as well. I'm sure skotzko will return for this leg at some future time.

This wasn't the case in May. Walking the Meseta was akin to walking from Sarria. So many people and so much noise. I loved the Meseta in 2019 - one of my favourite sections. This time I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I live in Minnesota - if anyone has asked if I wanted to walk across South Dakota this summer, I'd have run screaming. And then I walked the Meseta ( I confess to finding a reason to jump about 30k) I should add that I am walking the Portuguese this fall - and, since the Portugese is a little short, I may go back to pick up that 30k at the end - as well as St. Jean to Pamploma ( my original starting point) go figure....

Yes....not sure if I could manage that section during the summer months but, certainly, it was pretty nice in November last year.

Just get to the ticket office early. The bus has thru passengers and 5he time I tried to catch it, seats were limited and there was a rush for them.

Hi, we are planning to take the 12.45 bus from Sahagun to Leon in January. 2 Questions I need help with please:
Where does the bus depart from in Sahagun?
Do we need to buy tickets before the time?
Thanks!

I only see a train to Leon as of right now that leaves 3 times a day. Do you know what bus company? The train and bus station are co-located from what I see on Google Maps.

From my research ALSA for the bus - only twice a day according to their app. I cannot figure out if we can buy the ticket on the bus or rather online...online probably safer!

Yes, I see it on the app now, I would buy it online if you know what day you will be there for certain. There are also train connections for a few euros more. We have traveled in early January and due to the holidays, tickets are sometimes scarce. After Jan 6, you are probably OK. It is early so all tickets may not be available until a bit closer to the end of January.

I'm coming out with a new "meseta" series of videos that shows you what the
meseta is really like. You can see some of the videos now at my "isawtman" channel
on youtube.
